President Stevandic expressed discontent to the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH, concerning the CIK’s Decision on the election of the delegates for the House of Peoples

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr Nenad Stevandic, talked today in his office with the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH, Ambassador Brian Ageler, on the implementation of the elections’ results and the formation of the authority after the elections.

President Stevandic expressed contentment with the immediate constitution of all institutions following the elections’ results, emphasizing that the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska will constitute the new convocation of the Government, immediately after the constitution of the Council of Peoples.

He also highlighted that engagement is very important for the constitution of the authority on the BiH level, which has been accomplished by SNSD, HDZ, and “the eight”, especially alluding to the goodwill for unblocking very important economy and development projects in the Republic of Srpska, where the whole county and all its citizens will profit.

President Stevandic expressed discontent because of the CIK’s Decision where it accepts the ballot paper for the election of the delegates to the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, which the Commission of the National Assembly declared invalid. Emphasizing that by doing this CIK questioned the Decision of the highest legislative body in the Republic of Srpska, and it does not have the right to that.

He highlighted that the Report of the Commission for election and appointment on the election of the delegates from the Republic of Srpska in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH got many MPs’ support, and even the opposition MPs voted in favor of the Report, Serbian Democratic party MPs, together with the rest of 65 MPs, and only 12 from 83 voted against. Also, the Commission itself passed the Report to the National Assembly with 8 votes in favor and 1 against, and in the Commission’s Reports and during the National Assembly MP’s voting, there was no place for division, position, or opposition.

The President of the National Assembly expressed worry because of the demolition of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Mostar, stressing that verbal condemnations are not sufficient but the processing itself. “If there are no perpetrators then verbal condemnations can be interpreted as hypocrisy. It is very important that in charged institutions do everything to sanction and prosecute offenders so the process of peacekeeping and common life can be continued, and security returned to the small Serbian community in the town of Mostar and the valley of Neretva”, said Stevandic.

President Stevandic thanked the Head of the OSCE Mission for the support and cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, which has been the most transparent parliament in BiH, due to the international and inland organizations’ evaluations.

He added that all TV broadcasters are allowed to directly transmit the sessions of the National Assembly and that all decisions, conclusions and session materials, and other acts are transparently being published on the National Assembly’s website.
